Solange Gets Down & Dirty With A Surprise Concert At A 'Laundromat'

If you showed up at the Atlantis Superwash Center in Brooklyn on Monday night, you were in for more than just another boring night of doing the laundry. Instead of mindlessly watching clothes tumble in dryers, guests were treated to a secret concert as singer Solange turned the laundromat into her own personal stage. The FADER and vitaminwater sponsored the unique event as part of their #uncapped series. Billed as a series of "transformational musical events dedicated to make boring Mondays more brilliant," other NYC locations slated for upcoming shows include an auto body shop and a bank. As guests waited for Solange to take the stage, attendees were able to quench their thirst with vitaminwater while thumbing through issues of The FADER and enjoying the sounds of DJ Justin Strauss. Once showtime started, she took to the stage and the washing machines (literally!) to run through favorites such as "Bad Girls," "Losing You" and even threw in a cover of Nivea's "Laundromat" for good mesasure. The summer series is set to continue on until September, with the locations and deets being revealed via both companies' Facebook and Twitter pages. Past performers include B.o.B., Santigold and rapper Earl Sweatshirt. If you missed the boat on these refreshingly unique shows, then have no fear. Head on over to here and here to play catch up and see what you've been missing. In the meantime, peep these clips of Solange giving her all during the intimate set. Laundromats have never been so fun.
