It was well over a year ago that Omar dropped the video for his song "The Man," to be taken from his album of the same name. Though he's been featured on several collaborations since then, not much more has been mentioned about the long-awaited album from one of our favorite Brits. Now just in time for Christmas comes news that the album will finally make its way to our grubby anxious little hands thanks to a new deal with Freestyle Records. The label, which will also be celebrating its 10th anniversary, will be releasing The Man in spring 2013. Omar expressed his happiness in a statement released by Freestyle saying, "I'm very glad to be joining the guys at Freestyle, they have a unique ear for music which suits me down to the ground!" He also spread the word to his fans via his Facebook page this week, following up the news with a hint about at least one duet we can expect to hear soon. "Just blown a speaker (again!) mixing duet 'Treat You' with Caron Wheeler for the new album The Man," he said before ending with the hashtag #totallyworthit. A duet between Omar and Caron Wheeler?! We'd definitely say it will be well worth it. Sounds like 2013 will certainly be a happy new year!
