K'Jon Wants A 'Bad Gurl'
K'Jon's new album, Moving On, is due in stores this April, and the singer makes a complete 180 from the first single to the next. "Will You Be There" was more along the lines of what we've become used to from the R&B crooner with its easy listening urban contemporary sound. K'Jon switches his style up for the second single, "Bad Gurl," as he sings to a pretty young thing who captures his attention at the club. "Bad Gurl" is something for you to two-step to on the dance floor, which is all fine and dandy, but the lyrical content could have been a little less hood cliche. K'Jon mentions everything from Remy to Moscato to poppin bottles to the ever-present "haters" in a song that is so very R. Kelly of him, who he also name checks and is the king of the hood cliche. This song may not exactly be my cup of tea lyrically, but it works for what it is and for the audience he is going for.
