Afro-Blue Channel Janet Jackson On 'The Sing-Off'

The Sing-Off is getting down to the wire, with another group getting the ax last night leaving six to advance to next week. Thanks to some fancy footwork and their always-stellar vocal stylings, SoulBounce fave Afro-Blue survived the cut with a soulfully jazzy Janet Jackson medley. Afro-Blue If You're Nasty performed three of Miss Jackson's hits -- "What Have You Done For Me Lately," "When I Think Of You," and "Miss You Much" -- and were totally in character from hair to choreo. This wasn't their strongest showing, however, and I agreed with judge Shawn Stockman's assessment of their performance. Some of their transitions could have been smoother and they changed the arrangement of "When I Think Of You" so much that it did take a minute to recognize the song. Nonetheless, despite the judges' critiques that made it seem like all but a foregone conclusion that Afro-Blue would be sent home, they made it through without even being in the bottom two. Saint Damito Jo was surely looking out for them.
