Coming at us straight from Lau HQ is Eric Lau giving us a glimpse at his music-making process. This behind the scenes video shows the man in action in his home studio as he details the steps he took to record a new track. The song in question is entitled "This Is For You," which he is giving away to his fans as a gift for their our support of his last two instrumental albums. It is quite fascinating to see how Lau takes a sample of Ahmad Jamal's 1973 record "Children of the Night" and chops, slices, dices, and flips it like a flapjack into this new recording with an additional vocal sample of rapper Wildchild to sweeten the pot. The four-minute video is quite a fascinating watch, and the end result is a head-nodding track that I only wish was a little longer.
