While I'm familiar with the output of Georgia Anne Muldrow, that of her musical partner, Dudley Perkins, has pretty much passed me by. However, when I saw that Dudley had collaborated with rapper-turned-crooner Aloe Blacc I decided that it could be worth a spin or two. The track, entitled "Apocalyptic Music," is taken from Georgia and Dudley's SomeOthaShip Connect 2011, a free compilation celebrating the launch of their shiny new website and showcasing music from their label. The track itself combines Dudley's hard-edged rapping over a heavy beat (courtesy of Madlib) with Aloe's smooth-as-butter vocals...a perfect match if ever there was one.
