A Soulful Noise, Pause For A Cause
View Raphael Saadiq & Donate To A Good Cause While You Watch
As if I needed another reason to love me some Raphael Saadiq (besides his boyish good looks and amazing music), he goes and proves he has a heart of gold. The former Tony! Toni! Tone! front man is lending his name to a worthy cause, courtesy of SPIN Magazine and American Express. From now until 1/28/11, the credit card company will donate $1 to The Roots of Music Program for every time someone watches a video interview featuring the singer. Based in New Orleans, the non-profit program provides music education and academic tutoring to over 100 students from the metro area. Filmed while visiting the city during last year's Voodoo Music Experience, Saadiq gives viewers some insight into the impact music has had on his life and why programs such The Roots of Music are important. So be sure to click this link to check out the clip and help Raphael, whose new album, Stone Rollin', is due out later this year, give back to the Crescent City.
