After repeated listens of "Radio," the first single from Raphael Saadiq's upcoming Stone Rollin', I must admit I was left wanting more. Yes, he had expertly put his spin on the retro-soul formula previously, but this new radio-friendly pop/soul combo had me shaking my head a little. But now the second single from the project has surfaced, and I like this much, much more. "Good Man" still has a retro sound, but it's not the paint-by-numbers Motown rehash that we usually get; this is definitely more interesting, both musically and vocally. I will more than likely cop this album when it drops. First off, because it's Raphael Saadiq, so there are guaranteed to be at least one or two gems. Secondly, Yukimi Nagano of Little Dragon is featured. Yup, enough said--I'm sold! [H/T: HHNM]
