'Boogie' On Down With Tokyo Dawn Records

The good folks over at Tokyo Dawn Records are gearing up for the release of a new compilation that will provide the perfect soundtrack to your Saturday nights. The 18-track collection incorporates '80's and '90's-sounding R&B, funk and electro into what Tokyo Dawn likes to call "boogie music." Appropriately entitled The Boogie, the compilation has been stuck on repeat all day, the perfect antidote to this never-ending cold spell. I'm not familiar with most of the artists featured, but I'm making it an early New Year's resolution to get familiar. Tracks include the electro funk delight that is Opolopo & Amalia's "Life's A Dance (New Opo Swing Mix)" and the more down-tempo, contemporary soul of Stray's "If Lovin' U." Take a listen to both tracks, and keep your eyes and ears peeled for the official release on January 21st.
