Listening To This Janelle Monàe Track Won't Be A 'Fight'

In support of Tyler Perry's latest release, For Colored Girls Who Considered Why Did I Get Married at Madea's Family Reunion When I Can Do Bad Enuf All By Myself, everyone's favorite Black girl in a suit, Janelle Monàe, has served up new music for its soundtrack. "Not Without A Fight," a bouncy, upbeat song about determination, hope, and persistence, fills out an already impressive roster. Music From and Inspired By The Original Motion Picture 'For Colored Girls', an all-female affair like the movie, features the likes of Nina Simone Ledisi, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Lalah Hathaway and Gladys Knight. What the movie lacks--and there is much lacking--you can find in this solid collection of powerful female voices...and Macy Gray. Listen to "Without a Fight" below and enjoy it as much as I am.
