I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the best at keeping current with mainstream R&B these days. What seems to sustain my interest from a soul standpoint is not what's hot in the club or what I hear on the radio in any way, shape, of form. We've certainly been vocal on SoulBounce about the lasers and ray guns that have seemed to taken a fierce hold of Mary J. Blige's music for quite some time, as have many of you. Thankfully, Mary seems to have gotten the memo and recently explained to MTV that her new album will be more like "[What's The] 411? and My Life" and more "R&B, hip hop, and soul...and less futuristic." No sighs of relief over here just yet. We'll wait until the finished product comes out before we hop onboard this spaceship. [H/T:PBB]
