Bounce-Worthy: Lulu Fall

Singer, songwriter and actress Lulu Fall is poised to be the next big thing to come out of the Washington, DC area. Don't believe me? Then what else would you call someone who has graced both US and European stages and has been tapped to go on tour in a new production of the musical Hair. Oh yes, this classically-trained jazz vocalist has definitely got next, and she brings an exciting blend of jazz, soul, electronica and rock to her music. She released her jazz-influenced debut project, Lulu's Back in Town, in 2008 and followed that up with a free EP, It's Official, earlier this year via Bandcamp to give people a taste of the variety that she has in her pocket. Combining her African roots (she's Senegalese and Cameroonian) with her American upbringing, Fall's music is representative of the global village from which she comes. Before she heads off to NYC to start rehearsals for Hair, audiences in DC will be able to catch her this Sunday, September 26th at the inaugural One. One. Two. show with another DC-based artist, Levi Stephens, at The Fridge. Peep the flyer after the bounce, but not before you fall for Lulu's music after taking a listen below.
