Since none of the blogs and websites that posted Prince's latest jam of a leak didn't get shut down yesterday, I guess the coast is clear for us to do so now. Although his Purple Majesty no longer celebrates his birthday (being a Jehovah's Witness, it's against his religion), it was quite fitting for this new song of his to come out of nowhere on a day when the rest of us celebrated him being 52 years young. "Hot Summer" is a fun and funky musical romp that sounds very, well, summery. The track features a female singer whose robust wails of "hot summer" kick it off before Prince takes over. This isn't so hot that I want to rip off my clothes and go purify myself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka, but the more I listen to it, the more I love it. If you're a Prince fan, I suspect you'll feel the same way.
