A Soulful Noise, Video SoulBounce

We're Still 'Lovin'' Shanice

Remember back in 1991, when Shanice released her second album, Inner Child? Although it seems so long ago, I guarantee you remember your favorite cuts. Mine were "I Love Your Smile" ("Blow, Branford. Blow!") and of course, her remake of Minnie Riperton's "Lovin' You." That song showed off her insane range and let us know without a doubt that she was a master of her craft. Well, lest you think this is a throwback post (which it isn't), recently Shanice released a YouTube video of her riffing on the Riperton track yet again. And we're not complaining. Hopefully, this will be the final tease before her new material is ready for prime time. And if not, that's fine, too. We'll be fine waiting, assured through these warm-ups that the golden pipes are still in top form. Is Shanice still the master? Sho' nuff. (Sorry, couldn't help it. Heh.)

I got a CD player the Christmas after this CD came out and this was my very first CD EVER!!!! *tear* Shout out to Radio Shack!!!

Great post!! In my view this is the best that I have heard anybody sing Minnie Riperton's classic song. "I love your smile" was one of my favourite songs of 1991.

The sista's still got chops!
