Melanie Fiona Takes The 'Subway' To London

After "subway" stops in New York City and Canada, Melanie Fiona took her series across the Atlantic Ocean, making tracks to London to promote her newly released album, The Bridge. This time around, Mel stops on Abbey Road to perform "Ay Yo" alongside the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble. She had me at hello with the horns, given my brass background in *cough* high school band. The next stop was the Island Records 50th Anniversary Exhibit, where she hooked up with former Culture Club collaborator ("Karma Chameleon") Judd Lander and his harmonica as they offered a sparkling rendition of "Walk On By." What's great about this series is the venues, of course, as you never know where Melanie will show up next. However, it also gives us great hope that live singing, and collaborations with live instruments, will always be captivating.

I love Melanie Fiona! Her voice is so natural and raw. This Subway Series has definitely been a joy to watch.
