Spike Lee's 'Passing Strange' To Rock Your World Soon In A Theater Near You

While I'm totally not into musicals (too much emoting), I am into musicals that portray a side of life that intrigues me. Quiet as kept, the Spike Lee directed movie of the musical Passing Strange will be coming soon to a theater near you. Expect tons of angst, much emoting and, of course, singing as well as a plot line surrounding a Black punk rocker who leaves his world of South Central Los Angeles to find and lose himself in Europe. The trailer below seems as though Spike stayed pretty true to just filming the musical and not overly adapting it for the screen, kind of like what he did with The Original Kings of Comedy or John Leguizamo's Freak. If you can, catch screenings August 12th in Los Angeles and August 21st in New York City.
