I'll be the first to admit that I was a shade cynical when I heard about this new Al B. Sure! project on Hidden Beach. It's not that I had low expectations, I just didn't know what to expect from the man who hasn't had a hit since the first George Bush was in office. However, I am surprisingly smitten by his first single
"I Love It (Papi Aye Aye Aye)." Despite the side-eye inducing subtitle, Al sounds better than he ever has, and the song is a Quiet Storm ready gem. He even teams back up with Kyle West (where's he been?) to break it down once again. Honey I'm Home hits stores on June 23rd and after listening to this track and the album sampler, Al B. Sure! sounds like he's back In Effect Mode.
