Jazmine Sullivan's Short Film Is 'Another' Step In The Right Direction
OK, I think now we can all breathe a bit easier. After last week's debacle that was passed off as a high concept music video (the second in a series, actually), Jazmine Sullivan's team is finally back on track with the release of a short film for the highly-rated song "In Love With Another Man." The clip only shows Jazzy's image sparingly, singing live on stage at the Nokia Live in LA. It's her voice that carries the clip, though, reminding us of why we fell in love with her last year. Featuring a young actress literally going through the emotions with both her well-intentioned boyfriend and the other man of whom she can't get enough, the film is not a masterpiece, but it's definitely a clip we can watch without cringing or worrying about seizures. Heh. Matthew Cherry directs. Enjoy.

suga | March 10, 2009 3:12 AM | PermalinkThat was an excellent clip. Kudos to Matthew Cherry! It wasn't a big budget production, but I couldn't take my eyes off the screen once I started watching it. Jazmine Sullivan should continue to work with this director and create art like this for more songs from her album. Maybe they could continue the story of the characters we saw in this short film.
