Soil & 'Pimp' Sessions Bring You A Funky 'Fantastic Planet'
Since discovering my new favorite Japanese Jazz fusion band, Soil & "Pimp" Sessions, I have been steadily bumping their album to enhance just about any situation I happen to be in. Their first album to be made available in the States, Planet Pimp, was just released two days ago. Luckily, if you're still not familiar with this phenomenal group, their new single "Fantastic Planet" is out now. Nice find. I've heard great salsa/latin jazz from Japan, but this is definitely funkier. Also, no joke: some the music for their animated tv shows is impressively, and unexpectedly, jazzy.
