Confirmed: Jam & Lewis Have Reunited with Janet
Full disclosure: While we are generally pleased that Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are back working with Janet Jackson, let us pray that whatever they're putting together is marinated and slow-cooked. At this point in time, it's too soon to decide if they'll stumble upon that old magic again and reinvigorate each other, the loyal fans, and the sleeping masses. I can totally wait until 2011 if I have to. [H/T: J|X]

Mutada's -> 6 suggestions for a successful Jam and Lewis produced “comeback” Janet Album.
1. Jam and Lewis have to play all of or most of the instruments. No Ghost producers!!
They’ve been huge offenders over the last 10 years. We need Jams drum programming and synth skills and Terry directing Janet in the booth.
2. Janet needs to get off of the nympho shtick !
I still think Ms. Jackson is super sexy, but we don’t need any songs about her masturbating, giving head, "packages" or any other over done sexuality that has permeated her music for the last 4 albums.
3. No other writers!
As much as I liked hearing Janet rehash Ne-Yo's left over MJ songs on her last album. None of them were hits and there was nothing memorable.
4. No other producers.
Yes. I'll give the "pudgy one" Rodney Jerkins (and HIS ghost producer who actually produced the record "D'mile") credit for getting Janet’s music back out to the main stream. ->"Feed Back". But the other records on the album, were nothing special and we don’t need more "Stargate" records from Janet. Do we?
5. One more collaboration with Michael would be nice, but we don’t need any guest rappers or other artists on the record. Case and point -> Nelly
6. Finally... Sit in the studio (not the new multi level complex in LA, but the original Flight Time studio in Minneapolis), and come up with a NEW and ORIGINAL sound.
Janet can not win if she's trying to out "Beyonce", Beyonce or Out "Ciara" Ciara...Yes, Yes I know these younger chicks ripped a lot of Janet’s style off. (Especially Ciara)
But we don’t need a bunch of sound a like, “I can do it too” records from Janet. She’s a Janet Jackson for crying out loud-> Innovate! Give us some of what we love you for and also go left field.
