'Black Dynamite' Depicts SoulBounce Header Graphic in Shocking Live-Motion!
You know what kind of movies we love here at SoulBounce? The ones where the hero throws a punch but you don't hear it land until ten seconds later. We hope this is the case with Black Dynamite, a spoof of the Blaxploitation genre film starring Michael Jai White, who also co-wrote. If you're anything like us, you're probably pulling up the rear on the late bus, since the film's trailer has been online for a little while now. But don't feel bad, it will probably head straight to DVD after it does Sundance later this month. Here's the synopsis followed by the trailer, after the bounce:
When "The Man" murders his brother, pumps heroin into local orphanages, and floods the ghetto with adulterated malt liquor, Black Dynamite is the one hero willing to fight all the way from the blood-soaked city streets to the hallowed halls of the Honky House.

kimani | January 13, 2009 2:51 AM | PermalinkOh wow this looks super funny, Michael Jai White's voice alone is hilarious. I also like that Sallie Richardson is playing who I would assume would've been Pam Grier lol. I'd pay to see it in the theater too.
miss concrete jungle | January 7, 2009 11:04 AM | PermalinkArsenio, Tommy Davidson, Kym Whitley....I was skeptical to say the least but after watching the preview I must admit it looks HILARIOUS !!!

ill Mami | January 6, 2009 4:54 PM | PermalinkHow is it that Pam Grier is STILL fine after all these years???
Preston | January 6, 2009 4:40 PM | PermalinkI blogged about this movie the other day. I actually think it has the potential to be hit. Hell, everybody in the movie has starred in more flops than a mofo! Plus, any movie that Bokeem Woodbine is cast in is unintentionally funny.
Soulrific | January 6, 2009 4:20 PM | Permalinkyea so I been stanning this movie for months, I hope it comes out. everyone who has ever seen my artwork (ahem, this site) knows what effect blaxploitation has on me
huny | January 6, 2009 3:57 PM | Permalinkyou know how much we love Blaxploitation! woohoo!
Ayah the Problem woman | January 6, 2009 3:47 PM | PermalinkI hope this film doesn't go straight-to-DVD. It deserves a theaterical release. There are a few big name stars in the flick, so I think it will secure a distribution deal at Sundance. Plus, the trailer is hilarious.
Trent | January 6, 2009 3:44 PM | PermalinkFinally, someone other than Tarantino is taking an AUTHENTIC approach to the films of that era. Goodbye Undercover Brother (sorry Eddie), Hello Black Dynamite! Looks great! Can't wait to see it.
