A 'Four Letter Word' From Raheem DeVaughn
I have a few four letter words for Raheem DeVaughn about his new video for the track "Four Letter Word" from last year's Love Behind the Melody: Love. This. Jont. If you've been following SoulBounce of late, then you know that I've been giving this dude the business with regard to new music that has mysteriously leaked from his studio sessions and onto the net. I've doled out the tough love and had some harsh words, but I'm only this passionate about artists who I love and Raheem is amongst a small group of folks who hold that distinction. But with this video directed by his good friend and fellow artist W. Ellington Felton, the icebox where my heart used to be is warming up again. The simple clip of Raheem singing and various four letter words appearing on the screen is the first in the Art Behind the Melody video trilogy. I am so feeling this and can't wait to see what comes next.

Oh yeah...now THAT's what I'm talking about! He strikes me as the kind of man that, when the industry tries to convince him to be conventional, typical and commercial, he needs to just close his eyes, lock himself within his own thoughts and his own heart and sing from that place. There's nothing else as beautiful.
Dayum. :-)

The last minute or so of the video where he sings a cappella is why we love Raheem so much.
This happens to be my second favorite song on this album. Good show Ra, good show.
