Some New/Old Janet To Hold You Over Until...?
Jimmy Jam recently revealed that he would love to do more work with Janet Jackson and pointed out that the possibility was never in doubt. He also added, "Just because you work with another producer or decide to go the other way, that that closes the door of the possibility. [sic]" Somewhere in between Damita Jo and 20YO, some Rich Harrison tracks happened. Two leaked just before the release of 20YO and two more hit the 'net (in very low quality form) in recent days. "Clap Your Hands" is signature, obvious Rich, while "What Can I Say" leaves room for doubt. In both cases, the man behind the boards is assumed until confirmed. [J|X]

Okay, Ms. Jackson, I see ya using the big girl voice. What Can I Say, is pure honey!! This is something that needs to be on radio right now! Classic Janet indeed!
kid1 | December 18, 2008 10:37 PM | Permalinkjanet-online.com has mastered versions of both songs that enhance the listening experience. old cuts, yes, but i like them both and perhaps she should add Rich to a possible Jam/Lewis reunion mix.

blknite | December 18, 2008 2:41 PM | Permalinki love "Put It On You" and "Pops Up" much, much more than these new/old tracks. but i'll take 'em gladly.
is Rich Harrison even producing anymore? anyone know anything he's done lately? we could use more of his sound right now.
dar | December 18, 2008 2:27 PM | PermalinkWhat Can I Say, is a pretty hot track, not sure why this one did not make the cut. It's one of Janet's most adult sounding songs in a long time. Not to mention some one put their foot in her ass, and made her actually sing with her full voice. They even have the key harmonies that Jimmy and Terry are know for.
Inbox | December 18, 2008 12:26 PM | PermalinkRich did do one track for sure that didn't make "Damita Jo," which was called "(Let Me) Put It On You" that was the only unsavory song from an overly exceptional album and overall period musically speaking. I just don't think the go-go sound works on Janet, Amerie stills remains its unsung channeler, but these new cuts are cool.
I'm a JJ fan who will enjoy anything she does in most cases.-QH
