Shed tears of sadness over this. She was great, mad as a sack of otters but a great bohemian performer with wit. Always been there and I never thought she'd go. She'd take that corny cabaret stuff and make you laugh, choke up and weep. Privilege to have seen her. Go well Eartha.

Flawless beauty, professionalism and integrity. The Diva will truly be missed.
I saw Eartha Kitt perform in the late 1970s. A friend wanted to see Eartha's show at Club Isis in NYC. I really didn't want to go--Eartha was from my parent's generation, but my friend talked me into it. I'm glad she did. Eartha was incredible and we had a fabulous time. Hoping Eartha rests in peace.
That tore me up, man. Miss Kitt was from my home state (SC) & I don't think she ever got the props she deserved in her later years. Oddly enough, I was just watching a re-run of 'Living Single' on Oxygen about three nights ago. It was the episode where Kyle tries to close a deal with Eartha's diva character & there's that underlying "sleep with me", Boomerang--Maaaaarcus thing going on. lol. I seriously asked myself, I wonder how she [Eartha] was doing these days & it seems like everytime I do that--like I did with Levi Stubbs after watching Little Shop of Horrors--the person drops dead within the next few days. Am I a jinx or what? Geez. :(
At any rate, R.I.P Ms. Kitt. The ORIGINAL Catwoman.

How did I miss this? I was out of town on Christmas, but still should have heard about this. She was certainly an interesting woman. RIP.

RIP Eartha Kitt.
Let's hope Beyonce doesn't screw up your legacy in the 'rumored' biopic where supposedly she's starring as you.
Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to everyone!
