This is What You Do When Q-Tip is In Town
Q-Tip's clip for "Renaissance Rap" is a treat on many levels. Very rarely does an artist do a video for a "hidden" track (it follows "Move" on the same track). Most times, videos released from the same album tend to decline in quality. This, being the third from The Renaissance, is visually appealing with a narrative replete with intrigue, profiling and a satisfying payoff. It also helps that Rik Cordero doesn't overdo it. Also, "Renaissance Rap" is one of the best tracks from the album, a certified head-nodder that is fresh, yet feels like an old friend. Classic Kamaal.

dar | November 20, 2008 4:22 PM | PermalinkI am so ashamed that i don't have this album yet?! No words for not having this...I WILL be getting it this weekend. I gotta suport the Abstract cuz he's supporting me by bringing muisc I can get into. I can't listen to commerial radio for more than 20 minutes now cuz I'll here T-Pain like 5 times in the span. and that drives me bonkers.
Nice vid..Tip

And what a coincidence too, since the two artists (Q-Tip and Janet) have worked together, and reportedly dated.
