Video SoulBounce

Maxwell is Manly, Humbled and Validated

In my opinion there is never, ever enough Maxwell-related content. You know, on SoulBounce or anywhere. He recently sat down for an interview with the Associated Press and thankfully they videoed the entire thing and posted it on YouTube. In it he addresses why he left us for seven years, dispelling any ideas about it being due to mixed reviews or the pressures of putting out a new album. He says,

A lot of my absence was based on...going out to get life experience, you know? Becoming a guy, becoming a man. I mean, I'm 35 years old now. In your twenties you're just a sketch of what you think you're trying to be..."
He also says he didn't expect such response to his tour, that he didn't think that audiences were desperate to see his delicious...wait. He didn't anticipate such interest in his music without a new single and an album that's still months away from release. If you're willing to invest a bit in seeing him live you will get to hear three new songs but he's going to focus on performing his classics because, like many of us, he doesn't like it when artists only focus on new music during concerts. It's great to hear that he's so thoughtful and real in addition to his other amazing assets. Listen to the audio before watching the video because once he pops up it's hard to focus on what he's saying. [AP]

I love maxwell!!! I can't wait for the album

@ Bart, his comment at about the lack of panties was just to get the crowd going. What I've noticed is that European audiences are very different from American audiences. I have watched footage on youtube from his Amsterdam and US concerts and there is a huge difference in the crowd reaction. US audiences get a little crazier.

Hey -

I was at the concert last night at Radio City Music Hall. It was great. The performance was an hour and a half (9:23 - 10:52) - yes I timed it! This was my fourth Maxwell concert and I was not disappointed at all.

I'm going to see him at The United Palace Theatre on Sunday, November 23 too. Love this man as a person and as an artist.

f-u-c-k he is so fine. gorgeous bastard.

oh and talented too. definitely talented. I could get lost inside his beautiful voice.

yea. I'm totally on his dick. eff it.

I saw Maxwell last yesterday at Radio City, and I loved the show. But I must say this, if Jazmin had not been there KILLING IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would have been a little disappointed, for I have to agree with Bart 1 hour and 15 minutes was way too short. I was just getting super hyped when it ended.

I have to share my thoughts about the Amsterdam concert with you.

The man had us wait for a long time before he finally showed up on stage at 10PM. The crowd actually BOOO-d when the show started. Musically and vocally it was super. However at the end of the show I was quite disappointed, mainly by 2 things.

The first thing is that Maxwell complained about the lack of panties that were thrown on stage. *OH Man, how low can you go?* He even said he would smell them .... Then when one was thrown on stage (big mama size) he even pulled it over his head .....
What was the man high on? Did someone supply him with our number 1 Dutch export product: XTC?

The other thing is that he only played for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Especially after the long wait, I had hoped for more!

Thankfully, this interview clip brings back some of the integrity and humble side of Maxwell. Thanks for that!!

He is so hot. I can't wait for Nov 17th in Washington , DC. I'll be screaming my lungs off.

Oooooooohhhhhhh. I love him. Makes me almost want to drive all the way to Richmond and pay all that money to see him.

B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!!!!!

Maxwell is just ... He's just.... I wanna be him when I grow up.

No wonder Maxwell is considered to be a highly respected master of his music and one talented musician.

This is my first time commenting on this site. I 'stumbled' across it and I'm so glad I did. I love it.

Anyway, never did I think I would find a site that loved Maxwell as much as I do.

And as if I couldn't love him anymore...I read that article and got the 'shakes'.

I absolutely adore this man. I am so proud of him for having the wisdom and common sense to step away from it all to get in touch with himself, instead of wildin-out on us ala Britney Spears!!!

I can't wait until October 18. It's my first Maxwell concert and I'm soooooooooo very excited.

I love that man!!!

Damn! Could he be any sexier?!?!!! I mean, really? His humility on top of his natural appeal....Geez Louise....he's just uberHOT- all around!!!
