Who's Gonna Save Our Soul After Watching Gnarls Barkley's New Video?
Ahh...Gnarls Barkley. Those two words alone were once only thought of as a tongue-in-cheek misappropriation of basketball great's name. Now that we've all been privy to their blend of soul hop/rock/punk beats, not to mention the visuals they've provided as the accompaniment to their music, it seems as though Gnarls Barkley is trying to give queen of all artsy videos, Bjork, a run for her money. Lest we all forget the tropical-sci fi splendidness of their last video, Gnarls' new video for "Who's Gonna Save My Soul" assumes that not only is an interracial couple in the midst of breaking up not a big deal, but that one's heart truly does have a voice in the matter. And this video is undoubtedly better than the karaoke stylings of the Questlove version. It's beautifully terrifying and awesomely enchanting to watch. Thanks to Ill Roots for the look out on this one.

stoneyisland | July 24, 2008 12:53 PM | PermalinkYes, the doctor likey this one! Interesting that they have this style of bi-racial couple, a growing trend I'm a member of that I couldn't help but notice. I say, good for these guys for putting it out there like that and being real with the fact that with love, when you break up, it feels the same, no matter the colors of the people involved. Beautiful!
