House of Soul, Soul On Film

Roots of House Explored in New Documentary

Wherever you dwell, the one fact that all house music lovers seem to agree on is that House music originated in Chicago circa 1984. House music, an amalgam of soul, hip hop breakbeats, disco, and jazz, has always had a steady stream of devoted followers since its inception. House music's devotees have often called it a state of mind,  even described it as spiritual, cosmic, even orgasmic when the beat takes over. While house remains much underappreciated to mainstream audiences, the Untitled House Documentary trailer below will help to fill in the gaps of those who want to know more and likely start the fever for those who don't. For those rabid house lovers, this month marks the 23rd Annual Winter Music Conference in Miami involving all things House. And for you Erykah Badu stans, she will be making an appearance there, too. HD version of trailer can be found here.
