Robert Glasper is finally ready to bring us the musical follow-up we've been waiting for with his upcoming Black Radio III. The set will once again feature a who's who of featured guests on original songs and covers that celebrate Blackness and the Black contribution to the culture. And to prove just how much pull the pianist and composer has, he brought friends Amir SulaimanBJ The Chicago KidRapsody and DJ Jazzy Jeff to perform two tracks from the set on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Robert kicked off the set with the spoken word track "In Tune," on which poet and musician Amir Sulaiman waxed poetically on Blackness and the way that music can be a transformative force in our lives. That quickly segued into a performance of the single "Black Superhero" with BJ The Chicago Kid performing the chorus and his verse as Jazzy Jeff scratched and Robert played the song's melody. Rapsody — who isn't featured on the original song — then came out to kick a verse on which she referenced Black superheroes from the comics and then related them to the everyday Black superheroes who make a difference in the lives of all they touch. The performance then closed with Robert and Jeff going back and forth on the piano and the turntables before the pianist takes it home.

The performance gives us an idea of what we can expect when the promotional season for the Black Radio III kicks into full swing near its February 25th release date. And we can't wait to see what other stops the musician will pull out during those efforts. You can check out Robert Glasper and his crew giving it to The Tonight Show audience when you press play and then stick around to catch the full lyric video for "In Tune," which happens to be BRIII's opening track.
