Continuing the rollout of the follow-up to their widely acclaimed 2020 collaborative EP, Texas Sun, Khruangbin and Leon Bridges gift fans with a new track perfect for cuddle weather season. “Chocolate Hills” is a sensual yet tasteful ode to the euphoric energy of true love and passion. Over the stripped-down groove, Leon’s vocals shine as he cleverly and covertly describes the raw intimacy between he and his lover. The listener’s lustful imagination runs wild as he sings, “I love the way we spend the time / Running through your fields / The way we play / In your chocolate hills.”

The steamy single serves as the second release from their forthcoming Texas Moon EP and follows the lead single “B-Side.” Whereas the latter gave a more funkified introduction to the project, this latest offering takes things in a slower, more simplistic direction. When asked about the noted contrast between both the two single and the two EPs, the band’s response was just as colorful as their music. “Without joy, there can be no real perspective on sorrow. Without sunlight, all this rain keeps things from growing. How can you have the sun without the moon?”

The full Texas Moon project is available now for pre-order before its February 18th release date via Dead Oceans, in partnership with Columbia Records and Night Time Stories Ltd.‎
