Elmiene Makes A 'Golden' Debut

Sometimes the moment finds you. No one knows that better than rising star Elmiene. He's seen his star rise thanks to a few viral covers of R&B hits (and perhaps the fact the bears a slight resemblance to Questlove). But it was a key feature in the tribute show to late fashion designer Virgil Abloh that's led to the release of the UK singer-songwriter's debut single "Golden."

One listen to "Golden" and you can tell why Elmiene's song was chosen for the fashion show. The song has a nostalgic feel thanks to wistful guitar line acting as main melody alongside a steady drum beat that knocks along as the song progresses. Meanwhile, the song lyrically looks back on the good times and the moments that make life worth living. "Looking back at all my honest years / It just seems so miraculous that all those bright lights surrounded us," he sings at the song's start. "'Cause the hours, they ain’t change / But they seem painted golden to me." The chorus goes even further as he reflects, "All those golden years forever get contained in those past sunshines."

Due to the demand of those watching the fashion show online, Elmiene has released the single to all digital service providers. With obvious talent and growing momentum, we can only imagine how far he's going to go.
