Zo! and Tall Black Guy introduced their forthcoming collaborative album Abstractions at the beginning of the month with the set's lead single "Talkin' To Myself" featuring songstress BeMyFiasco. The song was a funky introduction to how nice this dynamic duo is coming on this new album, and they are wasting no time in dropping more fire with the project's second single "Hold My Hand," which they are also debuting in a SoulBounce exclusive world premiere.

Listening to "Hold My Hand" will sound like a mini-family reunion of The Foreign Exchange circa the Leave It All Behind era. That's because Zo! and TBG have gotten Darien Brockington, Muhsinah and Phonte all on the same record, and it is indeed "Something To Behold."

D-Brock gets the party started on the first verse. Over Zo! and Tall Black Guy's thumping percussion and melodic guitar, Darien slides up to the mic to profess how much he cherishes being alone with his baby. "When everybody’s left the afterparty / It’s just me and you all alone right where we started / And I wouldn’t want it any other way," he smoothly sings. Muhsinah then comes through, holding it down on the chorus. "I like the way you roll it, baby / You control it, baby / When you’re holding my hand," she harmonizes. Phonte's got next, and he's also caught up in the rapture of love as he croons, "Two hearts standing in one choice / You bring me joy, hey," on the second verse.

Darien, Muhsinah and Phonte's voices already flow so well together, so they could sing gibberish and make it sound good. In this case, and with Zo! and Tall Black Guy's production, all parties involved have another smash on their hands with "Hold My Hand."

At the rate that Zo! and Tall Black Guy are dropping singles, we suspect that we'll be getting Abstractions into our hands sooner than we originally anticipated, which is quite fine with us. While they keep us in suspense, we'll be keeping their two singles in heavy rotation.
