OsKeyz Debuts With Help From Conya Doss On EP '6019'

As a producer and music director, Oscar Stieler developed a solid reputation thanks to his work with soulful queens like Jazmine Sullivan, Lalah Hathaway, Ledisi, Teedra Moses and Tweet. But pandemic lockdown has allowed him the chance to focus his talents on personal projects, performing as the artist OsKeyz. For his debut EP 6019, the London-based musician calls on one of our faves – incomparable songstress, Conya Doss – to bring his new vision to life.

Like ebony and ivory, the duo creates perfect harmony throughout the quintet of relationship-themed songs. Built on a foundation of jazz, R&B, soul and hip hop, the set begins with "Happy Valley," a mid-tempo groove dedicated to the joys of love. The romantic high soon comes crashing down as "Sandcastles" warns the listener that "through rose-colored glasses, truth can be blind." We're enamored by the lovely bop "In My Feelings," particularly because it sounds like a live performance (and reminds us of how much we miss going out to concerts). Os and Conya transition from the concert hall to the dancehall with a breezy, reggae-tinged jam called "Where Is The Love." The album closes out with "All In One," a sweet dedication and vow of commitment to that special someone.

OsKeyz promises that there's more new music in store for this year. We'll definitely stay tuned for what's next, but in the meantime, you can find us listening to 6019 on repeat. Download a copy for your playlist, and keep up with Os on Twitter and IG.
