Sidibe Revisits 'Reckless Abandon' With An Acoustic Version & Soulfully Distances In The Desert

Following the release of her sweet and sultry “Place For You And I” video, singer-songwriter Sidibe returns with an equally entrancing offering of both ear and eye candy. The accompanying visual for the acoustic version of the title track of her 2019 EP Reckless Abandon captures the flawless beauty amongst a desert backdrop, laced with red rock cliffs and stark greenery. While her rose gold-colored, sequined two-piece outfit might seem a bit out of place amongst the elements, somehow she blends in perfectly with the serene landscape.

Sidibe chose to keep things simple for the self-directed visual, which was shot on an iPhone and edited by Adrian J. Martin. She remains the focal point with her striking beauty and graceful movements, as she sings of giving into an intoxicating love affair. In her angelic tone she declares, “Cause I know just what I’m doing / Too far gone / Is it reckless of me / Won’t apologize / For what I'm choosing / To get lost in reckless abandon.” While both the song and visual capture the YOLO sentiment fueled by the uncertainty of 2020, Sidibe also reminds us to honor stillness and simplicity, while living our truth.

Throw your own caution to the wind and dive into Sidibe’s “Reckless Abandon (Acoustic)” audio and video. Be sure to add the track to your collection from your preferred digital platform and, if you haven’t already, be sure to check out the full EP on Bandcamp.
