Jazmine Sullivan has been snatching our wigs for the latter half of 2020 with her stunning new singles "Lost One" and "Pick Up Your Feelings." Well, hold onto your edges, folks, because Jazzy isn't done with us yet. She's giving us something to look forward to in 2021 and kicking off the next year in a mighty way with the announcement of her new release entitled Heaux Tales.
The project will be released on her label RCA on January 8th and features the aforementioned singles. It's currently unclear if the collection will be an EP or a whole album, but Jazmine has got a few things to say and a lot to get off of her chest as it pertains to women. "Heaux Tales is about my observation of today’s women standing in their power and owning who they are," Sullivan said in a statement about the project and hammers that point home in the Heaux Tales: Part One trailer.
Dressed in the finest from Ivy Park's Drip 2 collection and showing off her svelte figure, Jazzy is a vision of loveliness in front of director Mansa Twin Johnson's camera. Another new song, produced by Key Wane and Dev Hynes and presumably included on Heaux Tales, plays in the background while Jazmine poses and serves face. "I wrote Heaux Tales to give voice to every woman," she speaks via voiceover. "We're deserving of respect whether we work as a CEO of a company or if we strippin." We soon see that she's not alone in the clip joined by three of her besties, one of which is Ari Lennox.
