It's Christmas Eve eve and all through the malls people are bustling through the halls shopping for last-minute gifts for their loved ones. Don't get us wrong, we all love a good gift, but sometimes someone's presence is preferred over any presents they can give. With this in mind, Brandon Williams has teamed up with frequent collaborators Brian McKnight, Jr. and Matt Cusson on a Christmas song that gets right to the heart of the matter on "Christmas Eve With You."
Brandon Williams is no stranger to holiday music, having released the stellar EP Christmas Card back in 2013. Now the producer and musician extraordinaire is back in his Christmas bag and coming through like a soulful Santa with the release of this surprise single to thank fans for their warm reception to his sophomore album, The Love Factor. For "Christmas Eve With You," Williams links back up with McKnight and Cusson, both of whom appeared on The Love Factor. The song is written by Brian who also co-produced the track with Brandon, and he shares vocal duties with Matt who kicks things off on the intro and first verse.
"Don’t need no snow, baby / Just candle glow / As I wrap you up in my arms up, girl," Matt sings to set the cozy mood on the seasonal slow jam. He continues his sincere sweet talk on the chorus, singing, "Didn’t ask for much this year / All I need I’ve got right here / There’s no place I'd rather be than spending Christmas Eve with you." Brian comes through on the second verse with his own testimony. "You’re like a miracle / Standing underneath the mistletoe / And I can’t help but thank the Lord," he croons. Horns provided by The Soul Committee out of Dallas give this song a warm glow that underscores McKnight and Cusson's harmonies in the second half of the song.
