Living in today's world is quite the exhausting experience. If it's not corrupt world leaders, it's systematic oppression and societal norms — not to mention plain ol' bigotry and persecution — that's getting us down. And that's before we even get into dealing with our own inner turmoil. With things seemingly so dire, sometimes you just want to throw caution to the wind and dance your cares away. Thankfully, Little Dragon is back and they've got just the jam to help you do that with their new joint "Tongue Kissing "
The song, their first release since last year's Lover Chanting EP, explores both the anxious state of the world and the need to revel in the joy of living. "This song is about facing our demons! Tongue kissing with the madness, slow dancing, soul searching, cry laughing and letting the dream wrap you safe like a cocoon," the group expressed on Instagram. To that effect, they've crafted an infectious, '80s-inspired groove that sounds like Jam and Lewis at a world bazaar. Lead singer Yukimi Nagano's vocal and lyrics wrap around the groove as sings about embracing all that life throws at us as it helps craft who we are. As with most of their recent work, it's a danceable jam that is worthy of repeat listens.
Along with the single, the quartet has also lined up a slew of tour dates for next year. The trek will kick off next March in Stockholm and take them throughout Europe and North America before they wrap things up in San Diego in May. The 31-date tour is a massive undertaking and, coupled with the release of "Tongue Kissing," might signify that a new Little Dragon album is on the way.
