Lizzo Shares Her Love For All The 'Boys' Of The World

Singer/rapper Lizzo is known for promoting body positivity and the beauty of the female form, especially with her recent release "Fitness." It seems as if she doesn’t mind extending that same spirit to the fellas as well. In her latest single, “Boys,” the diva shares her self-love with the male persuasion. “From this black girl to the world, I want you to identify with my story no matter what you like in yo’ holes,” she said as she explained her inspiration for the track.

Lizzo gives a shout out to everyone, “from the playboys to the gay boys," leaving room and opportunity for everyone to feel good about themselves. She also sprinkles playfully raunchy lyrics and compliments over a funky, guitar-driven groove that dares you not to shake what your momma gave ya. Coming in at just over two-and-a-half minutes, we think the song is just a bit too short. It’s almost a sin to make a track this fun and infectious so brief, but beggars can’t be choosers.

Lizzo has also released a video that celebrates all the boys she mentions in the lyrics. The clip starts with our girl making her way to her dressing room after a performance, joining her dancers decked out in her signature leopard print lingerie. The scene then transitions to Lizzo wearing a short afro wig in front of the famous Schmitt Music Mural in Minneapolis, a landmark made famous by a picture of a certain Minneapolis native who’s androgynous antics gave many the strength and confidence to be their unapologetic selves. In addition to her Prince homage, there are also scenes of Lizzo and her girls dancing in the men’s room, Lizzo posing nude and men reciting lyrics to the song.
