Daniel Caesar & H.E.R. Showcase The 'Best Part' On 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' & In New Video

To say that we are Team Daniel Caesar and Team H.E.R. in these SoulBounce streets would be an understatement. We've been singing the praises of these two young talents since they both first landed on our radars. So when the pair united on Caesar's sublime "Best Part" from his GRAMMY-nominated album Freudian, we were over-the-moon. Though both have performed the song solo recently, we had yet to witness them doing their thing together. That is until last night when the duo finally linked up to perform the duet on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

Backed simply by a drummer, keyboardist, three backing singers and Caesar on acoustic guitar, H.E.R. looked and sounded luxurious for her network television debut as she kicked things off with her verse. Decked out in a flowing white pantsuit and her signature shades, the mysterious singer delivered on her vocals, setting the stage for Caesar to come in with his buttery voice. The two complimented each other onstage just as good as they did on wax, with the performance fitting the song's romantic tone. Caesar seemingly couldn't take his eyes off the singer also known as Gabi Wilson, which is fine because neither could we. With scenes of the two walking along a beach playing in the background and a fan creating a soft breeze to lift H.E.R.'s hair, the duo's voices intertwined beautifully, proving that the hype for both is very much deserved.

Those beach scenes left some fans wondering if it meant an official video for the song was on its way. Luckily, they didn't have to wonder long as Caesar dropped the Keavan Yazdani and Sean Brown-directed visual earlier today. The clip plays exactly as it did on Kimmel with a split screen of Caesar strolling on the beach during what looks like dawn as H.E.R. walks the same beach at sunset, her face hidden in shadow. They never appear together, leaving the impression that something is keeping the two apart. It is a touchingly gorgeous video that fits the lush ballad perfectly. Check out their debut TV performance of "Best Part" before feasting your eyes on the stunning clip and see if it doesn't leave you longing for your special someone.
