Snoop Dogg & B. Slade Take Us To Church In 'Words Are Few'

You know Snoop Dogg is coming out with a gospel album, right? Yes, Mr. D-O-Double-G is coming at us with a double disc gospel set called Bible Of Love this March and even performed at the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration last weekend. Many are anxious to see exactly what gospel will sound like from the one-time gangsta rapper's perspective and we get our first official taste with his B. Slade-featuring single and video "Words Are Few."

"Words Are Few" finds Snoop taking on the role of a backsliding sinner coming back into the Lord's fold. The West Coast legend trades in his rhymes for vocals, singing about wanting to be nearer and finding his way back to God. And if the groove and lyrics sound familiar, that's because this song is actually a cover of B. Slade's "When My Words R Few" from back in his Tonex days. So, it's fitting, then, that he pops up on the song's bridge midway through and stays to help round things out. For the song's video, Snoop starts off alone in a church save for a few choir-robed patrons who help him act out some of the song's lyrics. The Boss Dawg illustrates things pretty well, but things amp up when B. Slade — rocking silky tresses and a rock star wardrobe — kicks up the praise and worship and gets everyone into the spirit.

Snoop's latest endeavor is an interesting one, to say the least, and one that we curiously await to hear. You can check out Snoop Dogg, B. Slade and the rest of the choir in the video for "Words Are Few" below and pick up Bible Of Love when it drops on March 16th.
