We’re most certainly hyped for the Art of Cool Festival 2017, which is fast approaching at the end of the month. Durham, North Carolina will be the only place to be from Friday, April 28th through Sunday, April 30th for three days of live music that spans jazz, soul and hip-hop, genres which we all hold near and dear to our heart here at SoulBounce. This is our fourth year partnering with the Art of Cool Project to get the word out about the AOC Fest, and we must say that this year’s lineup of artists and activities has us ready for this festival to start now, but we’ll exercise some patience.
We’ve already shared a few of the artists who’ll grace various stages around downtown Durham on the festival’s opening night, but its closing night is when things will really be lit. Setting everything off will be headliner Common at the Durham Performing Arts Center and the recent announcement that Rapsody will be opening for him. But the dope acts don’t stop there. Also on tap for Saturday night are George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Just Blaze, Terrace Martin and The Polly Seeds, NAO, Kenneth Whalum, The Baylor Project, RC & The Gritz and many, many more.
Tickets and VIP packages for the Art of Cool Festival 2017 are on sale now via Eventbrite, and trust us that you’ll want to get yours now because there’s no guarantee that any will be available closer to the date. One thing that we can guarantee is that at least one SoulBouncer out there will be going to the Art of Cool Festival’s Saturday night concerts for free with a pair of complementary Club Passes that we are giving away courtesy of the Art of Cool Project. If you’d like to be the one who wins these tickets, enter to do just that on the next page.
