Summer Williams Is Back 'Again' With New Music

Bounce-Worthy hip-hop soulstress Summer Williams has never been shy about her musical aspirations, maintaining her grind despite industry politics and setbacks. Her drive recently paid off in the form of a freshly inked distribution deal with Sony Red, Black 17 and CRWN records. Congratulations are definitely in order, but we're even more excited that our girl is wasting no time dropping new music.

As a preview to her forthcoming EP Hello Again, she just released lead single "Again." The reflective ballad finds Summer picking up the pieces of her life after a breakup. If you're expecting another sad love song, look elsewhere because she is all cried out and ready to move on. There's an underlying fierceness to her winsome vocals as she defiantly sings, "Push me on the edge thinking that I'll fall (over)/I'll fly" and "Baby watch my back as I run alone/I'll win." Infused with her signature style of "boom bap soul," the Lawrence Qualls production serves as a proper reintroduction to this talented artist.

Summer has impressed us in the past by putting her own spin on modern-day legends like Jay Z and Lauryn Hill, but we're equally pleased when she's just doing her own thing so we don't mind waiting a little longer for her to put the finishing touches on Hello Again. In the meantime, listen to "Again" below and support the artist by purchasing a copy via iTunes.
