GoldLink Gets Introspective On 'Pray Everyday (Survivor's Guilt)'

GoldLink is one of the best things happening in hip-hop right now. With the announcement that his debut album At What Cost is coming sooner than we expected, we're waiting on pins and needles to see what the DMV native has in store on the release. Now, the rapper is giving us one more listen to the album in advance of its release date with the latest leak, "Pray Everyday (Survivor's Guilt)."

With a name like "Pray Everyday (Survivor's Guilt)," the track delivers on everything you'd expect from it, plus a few other elements. It opens with a dusty piano loop that's soon backed by booming bass and programmed drums as GoldLink goes straight to the song's chorus. "Pray every day, say your grace, n***a / Keep the haters, keep the demons where you found 'em," he rap/sings before delving into his psyche to deliver some introspective lyrics that give us insight into the rapper's life. Soon, a gospel choir joins in, backing him up and walking the same fine line between the holy and secular that he did on And After That We Didn't Talk track "Zipporah."

In addition to dropping "Pray Everyday," GoldLink also gave us a peek at the tracklist for At What Cost, though he slyly omitted all the features save for the ones we already know about on "Meditation" and "Crew." It looks like "Fall In Love" and "Rough Soul" didn't make the cut, much to our chagrin, though the inclusion of what looks to be a remix to Hare Squead's "Herside Story" and a few other titles still have us anxious to hear what exactly what he's cooked up come March 24th.
