After Beyoncé, Rihanna and Teyana Taylor shut it all the way down at last night's 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, we honestly can't handle anymore visual stimulation (Wait, that came out wrong. Actually, screw it, we stand by it.) this week. Thankfully, artists like Robert Glasper Experiment are at-the-ready and helping to restore sensory balance with some aural brilliance that is sure to woo us away from our screens...if only for a moment. Just a couple of weeks ago, the quartet got us excited with the announcement of their upcoming album ArtScience and the preview of lead single "Find You." Now they're back with another album teaser called "Day To Day."

RGE keeps it light and groovy for the infectious dance track. There's something decidedly "MJ" about this cut (and no, we're not just that because today would've been Michael Jackson's 58th birthday). Perhaps it's the intermittent soar of the strings while Robert Glasper puts his genius on display with Rhodes and synth. Maybe it's the classic disco vibe we get from Mark Colenburg's fuzzy snares and four-on-the-floor rhythm or the sticky funk of Derrick Hodge's bass. And Casey Benjamin (who ditches the sax to provide lead vocals) undoubtedly adds to the retro appeal, with his signature distorted vocals that invoke the joviality of Off The Wall-era Michael. Or maybe it's just that this song is just a truly enjoyable listen. Either way, we are loving it.

Groove to "Day To Day" below, pre-order ArtScience via iTunes or Amazon and check the Robert Glasper's website for upcoming tour dates in the United States and around the world.
