There's just something about Jamie Lidell's left-of-center sense of soul that has us enamored with the talented Brit who now calls Nashville home. His last release, Jamie Lidell, had us floored with his sharp electronic take on soul music, as well as his subsequent collaborations since with the likes of A-Trak and Tensnake. Now Jamie's on the comeback trail with the announcement of his seventh full-length studio album, Building A Beginning, and the set's lead single "Walk Right Back." And if you thought that Mr. Lidell might've lost a step, you're sorely mistaken.

"Walk Right Back" is a shuffling ditty about going back to the love that started us all, which would be the love that our parents gave and instilled in us. Jamie sings wistfully, at times teetering between sounding like a play on Stevie Wonder and a bit of Al Green, of the innocent and pure love that he's trying to get back to as drums and slightly eerie synths lead the way. However, once that chorus hits, everything is quite alright. Warm bass and chords fill in the space between Jamie's vocal and the other instrumentation, making it feel like a welcome embrace.

You can check out the the lyric video for "Walk Right Back" below. Building A Beginning is set to be released October 14th.
