Lalah Hathaway Self-Reflects In The 'Mirror'


Ahead of the much anticipated ESSENCE Festival in New Orleans, songstress Lalah Hathaway premiered her video for "Mirror" for her fans during a live chat on In a series of promotions leading up to the festival, the multiple GRAMMY Award winner also released a behind-the-scenes clip of herself singing the track with an acoustic guitarist. The beautiful single, which encourages introspection, begs you to listen to Lalah's words not only because of her effortless vocals but the promotion of self-love. The music video features Lalah walking across a bridge by herself as mirror images of the lovely singer are displayed. "Stop hiding yourself/ Stop hiding yourself / Love yourself like no one else can," she sings as she stares into the distance.

The simple video, along with the stripped-down rendition of the song gives you a healthy serving of Lalah before her next release, which we hope will come soon. Lalah is currently is on her Lalah Hathaway Live U.S. Tour and making her festival rounds at ESSENCE and later in July at the inaugural Los Angeles Soul Music Festival, among her other dates.
