Back in January, SG Lewis and Dornik teamed up and got us all the way open with their collaboration “All Night.” The ’80s-leaning, dreamy, atmospheric sound of the song coupled with Dornik’s sweet vocal had us feeling all kinds of lovely. For the visuals, SG leans harder into the throwback vibes for the song’s video.
The visual borrows footage from ’70s blaxploitation films to help illustrate the song’s late night groove. Bell bottoms, leisure suits and afros are all on full display as the clip tells the story of a couple (well, actually, a few couples) as they meet and get down before getting down. Surprisingly, the clash of th ’80s sound and ’70s imagery actually works here, giving us much more than many of the found-footage clips And of course things get pretty steamy in the assemblage of clips, with a climax worthy of a cigarette.
In addition to providing us with some ’70s-style steam, SG will also be going on a tour hitting cities in both North America and the UK. The jaunt is set to start on April 18th at New York City’s Baby’s All Right and in a month later on May 19th at London’s The Laundry.
