Mapei's "Don't Wait" is one of those songs that snuck up on me and then, out of seemingly nowhere, has become a regular fixture on my playlists. The Swedish songstress nailed that fine line between between crafting a track that, once heard, refuses to leave your consciousness and one that begins to grate on your nerves after repeated spins. The song originally dropped last year but has gained new momentum thanks to remixes from Chance the Rapper, Benny Blanco, Kingdom and Giraffage, all of which will be packaged up as the Don't Wait EP alongside the original and an acoustic take, to be released via Columbia UK/Downtown in advance of her album which is due later in the year.
To celebrate the single's success Mapei has teamed up with director Dori Oskowitz to release an official video which follows Mapei and her man as they travel around town before finishing up the day at a party full of friends. The visuals are a simple enough affair but complement the songs laidback, feel good vibe perfectly.
