Try not to let recent legislative f--k ups taint what you think of North Carolina. Down in Durham, the Art of Cool Project non-profit organization is working to bring a two-day jazz festival to the Bull City. Their Kickstarter campaign is raising $25,000 towards this goal, and with one week to go, it is close to halfway. Art of Cool figured since North Carolina is home to jazz greats like John Brown and Branford Marsalis, why not throw a party? Looks like a fly idea. And since there will be jazz, I'd be willing to bet there'll also be cat daddies dressed in the finest linen short sets trying to two-step, which is my type of party. If this sounds like your type of hype, too, then bounce on over to Kickstarter to back The Art of Cool Festival by Monday, August 5th.
