Swizz Beatz & Musiq Soulchild Give Us Something With 'Anything'

Swizz Beatz has served up another offering in his Monster Mondays free music series (although this one dropped last Friday, so let's just pretend). Inspired by Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Friday offerings, Swizz joins fellow producer Timbaland in dropping free tunes weekly. Here, he teams up with Musiq Soulchild for an R&B joint entitled "Anything," and suprisingly, it's not annoying nor unbearable. I actually like it a lot. Musically, his self-promotion is kept to minimum (translation: he doesn't sing the hook), and it sounds quite different from much of his work. His trademark bells, hand claps, whistles, and repetitive chants aren't found here. He actually lets Musiq, from whom I've never actually heard a bad vocal performance, shine. Searching for good karma after the way he dogged Mashonda, is he? Alas, the world may never know. Whatever the case, this is a good collaboration, and Swizz flexes his R&B production skills rather nicely. Though he's still pretending to be a rapper, he doesn't soil the track...too much. See what I mean after you listen.
